A 77-year-old slice of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's wedding cake was auctioned in Scotland for Rs 2.36 lakh ($2,800). The preserved slice, gifted to a housekeeper at Holyrood House, came in its original box with a letter of gratitude from the Queen.

Auction house Reeman Dansie recently sold a 77-year-old slice of the cake served at Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s wedding for $2,800. The wedding took place on November 20, 1947, and the piece of cake has surprisingly survived for more than eight decades.
