Canadians can still use Tik Tok, but the Chinese-owned company is now forbidden from doing business there. CBC News reports that "the advice of Canada's security and intelligence community" factored into the government's decision to shut down its offices in Toronto and Vancouver.

Canada on Wednesday ordered Chinese-owned TikTok's business in the country to be dissolved, citing national-security risks, but added the government was not blocking Canadians' access to the short-video app or their ability to create content.

Following other countries' lead, including the United States, the government cracks down on the video-sharing app over national security concerns.

Though TikTok wasn’t banned in Canada, the country shut down two of its TikTok offices in Vancouver and Toronto.
