The summer of 2024 has seen various kinds of extreme weather batter Europe. Storm Boris has already caused severe flooding and the deaths of 24 people in Austria and Poland. The northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna was flooded overnight after the region experienced torrential rains.

A warning of “severe flooding” across parts of Italy has been issued by the Foreign Office. The updated travel advice came as Storm Boris struck the Emilia-Romanga region after causing extensive damage due to flooding across central and eastern Europe.
