Another title that's inching closer and closer to the $300 million mark is the surprise hit The Wild Robot. The animated movie raked in $7.5 million domestically and landed at #2, climbing one position compared to last week's ranking.

The Last Dance" went unchallenged in its second weekend at the box office, staying atop the charts with a $26 million second weekend. Despite having the lowest CinemaScore of the "Venom" trilogy, "The Last Dance" is holding its drop to just 49% from its $51 million opening weekend.

Paramount and Temple Hill’s Smile 2 placed No. 3 in its third outing as it crossed the $100 million mark at the global box office. The pic fell 29 percent in North America to $6.8 million for a domestic tally of $52.6 million and $109.7 million (it is unusual for a horror film to travel so well overseas, where the sequel has grossed $57.1 million).
