CEL due to tank level sensor fault (E12C01/E12C03)
WEBOct 29, 2020 · The original fault causing the CEL was stated above, either E12C01 or E12C03 from the hidden menu or the bimmer-tool app connected to the ODB2 port. These codes correspond with an Engine fault code of 193101 and 193001, which when looked up are exactly the same as the DTC code from the hidden menu.

The fault codes suggest that there is no service opening on the left side of the tank, and the whole fuel tank has to be replaced (which will cost a lot with heavy labor work) since there is only an opening on the right side of the tank (under the back-row passenger seats).

Turned it off for a few mins and the warning went away. But now I notice at idle there's a little shake and wobble from the motor, and also first gear gets a bit jerky.

WEBFeb 1, 2023 · This code is for the level sensor left short to B positive. I would remove the seat and inspect the electrical connections to the fuel pump and sending unit. The back seat pulls up and the cover on the passenger side is removed to inspect the wiring. If the wiring is good then the issue would be internal in the fuel tank.

WEBApr 6, 2023 · I have these 2 codes (E12C01/E12C03) this guy had, he said he low fuel issues sensors. I also had low fuel before and when i fueled up it didnt change, said low fuel still driving that time(i turned car on and off to try and make it reset), but changed later and showed correct fuel level next drive next days....

WEBDec 29, 2023 · In my case my active level sensor went bad (code 4BAC) and upon reading online, BMW wanted to charge $2400USD to replace the active tank completely as they don't sell just the sensor. Did some more digging and found a post online where someone replaced the active tank sensor with a VW part on an x5d, but not on the 335d.
Car alerts everything is broken, any ideas how to diagnose?
